Art Philosophy

Quinn Lockman

Fine Art painter of landscape and portraiture.

While my work is inspired by the world around me, I avoid photorealism. I use photography only as reference for later use.

Art for me anyway is an extension of myself. I want to be able to express myself, my current mood or my emotions through my work. Expressionism allows me to share the places and experiences I collect while also being able to make it part of myself.

As I lean closer to the subjects that bring me comfort and a sense of fulfillment, my execution of my work becomes more like I want and will it to be.

I don't think any artist can truly have learned all that there is to learn about their craft, nor do I believe I will truly ever be done any painting. They are all incomplete and there will always be more to add. There is beauty in that.
